Profiles of Islanders
Do you wish to be included? Do you know someone who does. Please, let us know. If you don't have a WebSite and/or you prefer more than just a thumbnail as shown on this page, -- not a problem. Provide us with the write-up to be published, perhaps with photos, and we make it a separate page. ________ Charles Arrigo Joan and I searched for our retirement place in the sun and found the River Reach Island. We have been happy islanders since 2004 and enjoy life in the tropics. However, after 40 years of successfully running my company in Westchester County, New York, I felt the need to again be involved in a business and offer service ‘my way’, -- reliable, neat, professional painting and decorating. I founded Deeptone Painting LLC, a fully licensed and insured company. I employ only very qualified professional painters. We do quality painting work not only residential but also commercial and industrial, interior and exterior as well. Take a look at our Website http://deeptonepainting.com/ Perhaps you have also seen us on Angie's List, Craig’s List and the Better Business Bureau positive report. We are "A" rated by the BBB. ___ Sherry and Steve Ashmore Hi friends and visitors to River Reach. Steve and I live in the 900 bldg and love the island and its residents. Steve is originally from England via Michigan and I am from Kentucky. We both love horse racing, sailing and going to the beach. Steve actually sailed a 23’ sailboat from Michigan to arrive here 25 years ago – it goes without saying it took him a while. We are both semi-retired hailing from the Aviation Industry where I worked in Material Management and him Production Management. We love sailing our 34 foot Catalina named Nora around the Bahamas and Key West during the winter months and visiting our home in Kentucky during the summer months. We recently decided to become Mortgage Brokers and now work for our son-in-law who owns J & E Financial Group here in Fort Lauderdale, FL. It is our mission to succeed in this profession by representing our clients to their best interest and helping them as they navigate this turbulent real estate/finance market. Come check us out at our website www.jefinancialgroup.com to meet us and learn more about the products we have to offer. We look forward to seeing you around the island. Thanks, Sherry. Steffi Schiffer, - I moved into River Reach as a renter in 1977, and after living here for 6 months, I purchased the unit I was renting. (Hind sight tells me I should have bought several units!) I was a snowbird, going back and forth to the N.J. shore until 1987 when my family sold our business there. When I moved here, there were only FOUR buildings. They had not even broken ground on the other 2 yet, so there have been many changes. One of the smartest things they did was the parking garages under the new buildings… I wish we all had those. One of the worst things they did was the poor planning with some of the tree planting. Those trees have grown up to block some of our wonderful waterfront views and that’s tragic! My great passion these days is sailing and you can read some of my racing and cruising adventures at: www.yachtrace.net and you can click on the link there if you’d like to email me. Just be sure to write RIVER REACH in the subject line so you don’t end up in the Spam box! You can reach Steffi at: stef@yachtrace.net ___
